Furnivall, Frederick James

English literary scholar who, partly by his own efforts in textual criticism and partly by founding learned societies, especially the Early English Text Society, was instrumental in initiating a major revival in the study of medieval English literature. Though he first studied law and was called to the bar in 1849, he came to divide his estate between his six children. The most exclusive of the properties was positioned in London's affluent Pimlico and was sold at auction through a local estate agent in 1901.

Can anyone tell me what happened to the family. I have a distant relative but have found no information that can tie us togeher.

Many thanks
